    Join us for a Girls Train and Play Series! An introduction to Dragon Volleyball where students will learn new skills and systems, enhance their current volleyball skills, participate in drills and follow up with competition at each session. Each session players will spend 45 minutes on skills, drills, and systems and 45 minutes in competition.   • Safe Sitter

    Welia Health is once again offering the popular Safe Sitter Class! Safe Sitter is a one-day course designed for 11-14 year olds that teaches the skills young teens need to safely care for children from infant through school age. It also includes CPR and Rescue Breathing. This course is taught by Welia Health staff. Tuesday, June 18 Pine City Elementary School-Media Center-This is a NEW LOCATION from prior years (Please enter door #24. This is the door near the Media Center/Auditorium) 9:00am-3:00pm (2:30-Presentation to Parents) Cost: $35 No lunch will be provided so please send a lunch/snack/beverage with your child. There is no refrigerator available so please plan accordingly. ***IMPORTANT*** Along with the online registration, there is also a Safe Sitter Registration Form and Safe Sitter Student Contract that MUST be printed, filled out and brought to class in order to participate. You will be emailed a class confirmation along with these forms 2 weeks prior to class so please watch your email.

    We are continuing the tradition of the Dragon Summer Tennis Camps program! In order to get the kids some match play, we will be setting up matches with local teams. Information regarding match dates and times will be shared via Remind when they are made available. Please sign up ASAP for Remind using the details below. This is how announcements will be shared. Please register by Friday, May 24! Pine City Dragon Tennis Camp: Grades 3-6 (Register by what the incoming grades are for 2024-25 school year. Example: Must have completed 2nd grade to be eligible.) The team will be coached by Coach Adams, Coach Garmen, Coach Kloeckl, Coach Miller and Coach Unverzagt, along with high school Dragon players. Practices will be on Mondays and Tuesdays starting June 17th and run until July 23rd. Practice will run from 11:30am-12:30pm at the PCHS tennis courts. Practice dates: June 17,18,24,25 July 8,9,15,16,22,23. The team will NOT practice the week of July 1st- 5th. Camp Cost: $25 (includes camp t-shirt, treats and equipment) All Grade 3-6 team announcements will be shared via Remind. Please sign up ASAP!   • Youth Gardening - Creating a Monarch Waystation

    Pine County Master Gardener volunteers are hosting Creating a Monarch Waystation! Most of us have seen Monarch butterflies in our yards and neighborhoods. These butterflies are well known for their bright colors, their connection with milkweed plants and for their long migration journey. During class, we will discover the life of the Majestic Monarch, as well as many other pollinator friends we might see in our yards. We will also enjoy a snack provided by our pollinator friends and plant additional pollinator plants in the ‘Monarch Waystation’, which is located outside under the sign on main street at Pine City Elementary School. Students will come home with plants, seeds and information on how to create a ‘Monarch Waystation’ in their yard which will attract Monarchs, as well as many other pollinator friends. In the case of severe weather, the class will be moved indoors. Date: Thursday, May 23 Time: Afterschool-4:15pm Location: Elementary School-ECFE Room #112 (located in the 1st grade hallway) *Students can be picked up at the S.W. corner of the Elementary School @ ECFE Door #5. Please be on time when picking up your child. Grades: 1-5 Cost: $5 (includes a snack)
