Pine County Master Gardener volunteers are hosting "Gardening for Birds,Birds,Birds,Birds! Learn and enjoy the wonder that comes with inviting birds to your yard. Whether you have a yard in town, a shared apartment building yard or acres of land, you can invite birds to visit, nest and live in your yard and neighborhood. During the classes, students will learn what is needed to create a place for birds to survive and thrive. We will start with a bird study on common birds that may be found in your backyard, followed by hands-on projects which will provide bird habitat including: food, water, shelter, roosting sites and nesting areas. During classes, students will make and bring home projects that create a "Bird Garden Habitat." By providing for birds needs, you are also providing for other garden animals including helpful insects like pollinators and insects that are used as food by birds and their newly hatched chicks.
